PUMP CONTROL OPTIMIZATION
Background:
Transworld was initially contracted to install a new control valve at a facility to control the water pressure to injection wells. During commissioning of the valve, Transworld personnel noticed that the associated water injection pump was operating erratically creating large fluctuations in discharge pressure. Further conversations with operations revealed that the pump experienced a significant amount of down time and was a constant source of problems and frustration for operators which contributed to poor production at the facility.
Transworld Advantage:
- Our multi-discipline team that was already on-site was able to diagnose the multitude of problems with the control system and provide a proposal that would correct the operation of the pump.
- Transworld was able to provide a ‘turn-key’ solution from ordering materials, to installing new wiring and instrumentation, to PLC and VFD programming changes to commissioning and start-up.
Result:
Upon completion of the changes proposed by Transworld, the client was happy to report that the injection pump now operates with minimal downtime and that the process control has exceeded their expectations which has improved production at the facility and reduced operating and maintenance costs. In addition, this work was completed under budget and with no disruption to production.
