WATERFLOOD & LACT ADDITION

Background:

Transworld was contracted to provide PLC programming, SCADA, a complete electrical drawing and construction work package and commissioning for the addition of a water filtration package and LACT unit at an existing facility. The project was put on hold for several months well into engineering making the time from start to completion almost a year. Several scope changes occurred once the project was restarted including the addition of the LACT unit and a new HMI. The client also requested shutdown key testing be completed for the existing instrumentation and control system at the time of commissioning the new equipment.

Transworld Advantage:

  • Our lean team structure allowed us to easily adapt to the client’s schedule.
  • Weekly reporting and forecasting was customized as the project requirements changed throughout the entire schedule including identifying and tracking scope changes.
  • Our highly experienced, multi-discipline team was able to adapt to the changing project requirements seamlessly and efficiently.

Result:

Engineering and programming came in on budget as per the project estimate and subsequent scope changes provided by Transworld. We were able to commission and start-up the new equipment and utilize the same resources to perform the functional testing of the automation system for the facility thereby saving the costs associated with a second team.
